India House - Indian Spices and Specialties. At first glance, this name invites all sorts of assumptions from outside observers."Surely this can only be a typical Indian shop . Can I possibly get any other goods, except those that originate from the Subcontinent?"
To that concern, we have a resounding reply: "Yes, of course you can!". Our grocery store, located near the Theater am Aegi and the Nord / LB bank headquarters - and just minutes from Hanover's City Lake, the Maschsee and its football stadium, the AWD-Arena, is more than just a little piece of India in the capital of Lower Saxony. We are a neighborhood store, where we take time for our customers and personal contact comes first. Further, we are well on our way to a modern grocery store - with a wider range which, whilst not quite complete invites you to stay just a little bit longer.
Over the years we have also emerged as an unofficial meeting place for many fans of Hannover 96, this city's League 2 football club. We have always kept our fingers crossed for 96 - and we always will. But more than anything else, we offer a very wide range of Indian spices, tea, rice,processed foods, lentils, chutneys, pickles and pastes - but the other side of the coin also means that we provide for more mundane tastes as well ... ice cream for hot summer days, beer to cool off during the football season, soft drinks for all occasions, chocolate, handkerchiefs, coffee, tea and so on ...No wonder that the India House has become an integral part of both Hanover's subcontinental community and of the district around the Maschsee - ever since our foundation in 1993.
